Somatics: Article "Clinical Somatic Education: A New Discipline in the Field of Health Care, by Thomas Hanna, Ph.D.
The Alexander technique has been around for a long time (AKA: stood the test of time), so it must be working at least so some reasonable degree. However, I still think training the involuntary postural control centers in the CNS via the righting reflexes is the best way to go.
The pre and post cobb angle measurements were 96 over 48 to 66 over 27. weight bearing transfer ratio was 85% improved meaning she displaced approximately 70% of her overall weight through her right leg, we had to do an awful lot of postural retraining with her to get her off of that right dominant stance, the primary treatment program was CLEAR. She has a long road ahead of her since she is only 8.
I must thank you for the images Dr Dovorany.
Yes, she has a long road ahead, but least you showed her the path to follow.

So the images were one of Dr. Dovorany's patients??????
WOW!!!! Wonder how the changes will hold as she grows???
Hope she lives locally...seems it would be alot easier to control then if she lives far and can only do occasional intensive sessions.
The home protocols are quite capable of not only holding changes but continuing correction. The NMR (neuromuscular reeducation protocol) along with the scoliosis traction chair can and should hold her. She will need monitoring via xrays every 90 days and certainly would benefit from future Intensive therapy. The main reason in my opinion that correction doesn't hold is faulty or non sufficient NMR exercises. we know the chair works and does its part but without enough quantity and quality of neuro posture reprogramming its simply not going to hold.
