There seems to be some confusion in regards to health insurance coverage for exercise based scoliosis treatments like ScoliSMART, Schroth, CLEAR, ect.

Insurance coverage varies depending on YOUR INDIVIDUAL POLICY, not the treatments provided in these clinics per say. Every treatment has a bill-able CPT code that is accepted by all insurance companies, but may not be part of YOUR individual plan. I have listed the codes that are usually billed at the bottom of this post if anyone really wants them.

If you plan lacks coverage or limits coverage for these codes, it is a function of YOUR individual policy, NOT lack of research, evidence, or because it is an "alternative" treatment option.

I understand that many people do not have a choice in their health insurance plan or provider as 85% of Americans are covered via their employers plan. My personal recommendation is to open a Health Savings Account (HSA) with your personal bank and transfer an appropriate amount of pre-tax money into that account to offset any insurance coverage deficiencies for an exercise based scoliosis treatment.
