    Default another question

OK...we all know early intervention is key...but even in a perfect world some kids will slip through the cracks..

with the knowledge CLEAR docs. have thus far

are there cases of above 30/40 curves getting reduced(and staying reduced).
Granted they'll never be 0/0 BUT do any of you feel the future may hold better promise for those cases.

oh ... Let's talk about this! Many women (like myself) use a "shoulder bag" type of purse. It can weigh quite a bit by the time we fill it with what we feel the need to cart around :-) Mine probably weighs about 5lbs. How would that affect hip rotation? I tend to carry on the right shoulder (same side as thoracolumbar concavity).

    Hi Mamamax,

Full explanation of this via email is probably impossible, but the low shoulder weight (a weighted bag that hangs below T7) should not be used by scoliosis patients with curves greater than 29 degrees cobb (yuck!) or with more than 2 degrees of hip rotation. Hanging the center mass of the bag will engage the lumbar spine righting mechanisms and when combined with the compression (weight of the bag + contents) it can (and often does) have the effect of causing further hip rotation, which in turn drives the lumbar spine further into the "coil down" effect.

Just another environmental factor in a multi-factorial condition.

I'm searching for the scoliosis treatment of the future!
